Amy is completing her Master of Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University and is looking forward to supporting young clients at MindKey Health. With over 20 years of experience teaching in high, middle, and primary schools, she understands the importance of managing big emotions so that students can focus on their learning and establishing healthy connections with peers and family members.

As a counselling intern, Amy prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and takes the time to establish a trustful connection based on warmth and understanding. Working with young clients and their families, she hopes to highlight individual strengths while setting reasonable goals to establish strategies for managing challenges with a growth mindset. Amy is also able to provide strategies and support for navigating classroom struggles and IEP meetings.

When not counselling, Amy enjoys spending time in nature exploring trails and beaches, or puttering in her garden. She is an avid road tripper and adventure seeker with her daughter and two chocolate labs.

Currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University, Keeley’s therapeutic journey has involved an extensive history of working with children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This background has provided her with a deep appreciation for the nuances of working with diverse populations, highlighting patience, flexibility, and creativity in her practice.

As a counselling intern, Keeley brings a blend of empathy, warmth, and compassion to her therapeutic journey. By understanding that each individual is unique, she tailors her approach to fit the specific needs of clients, drawing from various therapeutic modalities including person-centered, strengths-based, cognitive and behavioural, and solution-focused techniques. Her goal is to foster a safe environment for clients to feel heard, valued, and empowered in navigating life challenges whether it be through exploring thoughts and feelings, developing coping skills, or identifying strengths and resources.

During her practicum, she aims to gain opportunities to expand her skills by working with diverse populations of all ages. Each interaction provides a chance for her to support others and continue to learn and evolve as a counsellor. She values the privilege of learning from each client, recognizing the ongoing potential for mutual growth and understanding through a collaborative framework.

In her spare time, you’ll find Keeley outdoors with her 5-year-old rescue dog, Maya. Whether it be hiking, camping, or exploring and adventuring the island, she finds comfort and relaxation in being with nature (and in being with her furry companion!)

Welcome, I’m Hannah. I am a counselling intern and graduate student at the University of Victoria in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology (Double Major), from Thompson Rivers University.

My approach to counselling is informed by a deeply held belief in the possibility of change, and in the benefit of relational, collaborative psychotherapy. In my practice, I draw upon resilience-based therapeutic approaches. My areas of focus include supporting children, youth, and adults with concerns encompassing anxiety, neurodivergence, eating disorders, grief, and social-emotional difficulties. My approach is grounded within a trauma-informed, culturally humble lens, fostering a safe, welcoming space for all. In addition to clinical work, my research interests include psychosocial experiences of chronic illnesses and eating disorders.

I look forward to continuing to learn and grow as a clinician throughout my counselling internship; it is an honour to do this work.
